Waste Sorting, the Smart Way: Supalai Transforms Construction Site Paint Buckets into Eco-Friendly Compost Bins, Piloting the Initiative Across 8 Projects to Foster Sustainable Communities
Supalai Public Company Limited continues to drive its ESG strategy through “Supalai Green Village,” an initiative aimed at creating more sustainable and livable communities. The company has expanded its household waste separation program to 8 low-rise residential projects, highlighting the principles of the Circular Economy by transforming used paint buckets from construction sites into
in-ground compost bins through an upcycling process. As part of the initiative, residents were invited to participate in hands-on workshops demonstrating how food waste can be converted into organic fertilizer and how to prepare soil for planting. The program turns waste separation, often perceived as a complicated task, into a practical and accessible lifestyle that can easily be incorporated into everyday life. The initiative received an overwhelmingly positive response, with more than 130 households participating and collectively collecting up to 275 kilograms of recyclable waste.
Mr. Pratinan Watcharachittitham, Community Services Division Manager of Supalai Public Company Limited, said that Supalai is committed to reshaping the conventional perception of waste separation by making it more accessible, enjoyable, and practical. “We believe that waste management
is not merely a responsibility, but a lifestyle embraced by a new generation that cares about the environment. Therefore, the company is committed to providing practical knowledge and introducing Zero Waste organic waste management solutions to encourage residents to take part in creating more sustainable and livable communities together,” he said.
For this pilot phase of the “Supalai Green Village” initiative, the program has been implemented across 8 low-rise residential projects, including Supalai Ville Lam Luk Ka Khlong 7,
Supalai Park Ville Rangsit Khlong 4, Supalai Primo Nimitmai-Wongwaen, Supalai Park Ville Nimitmai-Wongwaen, Supalai Garden Ville Rangsit Khlong 2, Supalai Park Ville Ramkhamhaeng 174,
Supalai Palm Springs Rama 2, and Supalai Tuscany Rama 2-Wongwaen. The initiative featured
hands-on workshops demonstrating how household food waste can be transformed into organic fertilizer, along with practical techniques for preparing soil for home gardening. A key highlight of the program was the collaboration with the construction team to upcycle used paint buckets into in-ground compost bins and distribute them to residents for household use. This approach not only helps reduce construction waste at the source but also enables residents to manage organic waste more hygienically and efficiently at home.
This achievement marks another significant milestone that reflects Supalai’s strong commitment to advancing its ESG strategy. On the Environmental front, the initiative promotes waste separation at the source and helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. At the same time, it strengthens the Social dimension by encouraging active participation among residents and transforming environmental awareness into meaningful action in their daily lives. Through this initiative, Supalai continues to cultivate a sustainable living community, while fostering a better quality of life alongside a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
